Splyce is looking for an experienced Sr. Operations Director - Europe to organize and oversee the daily operations of our company throughout the region. You will be the one to ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people.

The area of responsibility for this role is very wide and thus requires thorough knowledge of various company processes. The ideal candidate must be competent and able to plan many different kinds of operational activities. You must be an excellent leader who can discover the most efficient ways to run the business.

The goal is to safeguard and augment the efficiency of the company's operations to facilitate accelerating development and long-term success. Primarily working out of Berlin, Germany and the U.K., this position will develop and implement a strategy for operational excellence throughout Europe for Splyce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and implement a strategic expansion plan for our LCS operations in Berlin and our Call of Duty operations in the U.K. in tandem with the CEO
  • Hire and manage a team that can execute at an elite level for all European operational needs
  • In tandem with North American departmental counterparts, work to develop fully functioning EU departments in design, content, player management, fan engagement/marketing and business development that can run complete operations separate from North America.
  • Manage a team that will oversee day to day operations of all staff, teams and facilities in Europe.
  • Scope, plan and execute launch of new industry leading facilities in Berlin that will act as both a performance/fan facility and the regional corporate headquarters.
  • Manage existing business partnerships and develop new strategic partners throughout the EU region
  • Ensure all revenue driving activities operate at 100% effectiveness
  • Manage procurement processes and coordinate material and resources allocation
  • Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability
  • Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations
  • Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
  • Lead initiatives in continuous improvement and long term operational effectiveness
  • Liaise with the CEO to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Fluent in English and German (native-level, or C1).
  • Proven experience as Operations Director or equivalent position
  • 10+ years experience in operational leadership, ideally in sports or entertainment enterprises
  • Outstanding communication and people skills
  • In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, customer service etc.)
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
  • History developing and implementing new initiatives while keeping to budget and timeline
  • Ability to learn quickly about a new emerging industry that is evolving as we build it
  • Innovative thinker who doesn't purely take the status quo and follow a check list, but prefers to push the envelope
  • Long term outlook on business development and strategy
  • Excellent leadership and staff development skills
  • BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field; MSc/MA will be a plus
  • Ability to travel internationally
