(Closed) Administrator / Tournament Manager
We are looking for a meticulous person who has huge shoulders to become paid employee #1 at Slips.
Most of our roles are currently volunteer as we only raised a small amount of funding in January 2019 and the cost of 12 months of business have depleted our resources. But we need to have someone on board to keep the company running smoothly and take the burden of our founder who currently:
- Manages the community
- Handles HR
- Does the development
- Does sales and partnership building
- Manages the marketing
- Produces all the art and graphics
... you get the picture. Our band of volunteers are great but our one man band is at risk of severe exhaustion so we need a talented and capable individual to come on board to handle a myriad of different responsibilities.
If you're the right sort of person, you know exactly what sort of skills we're looking for. You're going to have to be a jack of all trades. You should be able to communicate really well. You will ideally have some technical skills. You'll love to organize people. People should fear and/or respect you... or at the very least want to run through a brick wall when you ask them to. You don't need your hand to be held through tasks.
Your key role though will be to ensure the smooth running of our monthly tournaments and oversee the building of our communities on Discord/Telegram. We are looking to reach the magic figure of 10,000 users before we launch our product.
We know the "compensation" we're offering is nothing amazing but we're also believes in finding rough gems and people that might have circumstances which make this job viable for them. Perhaps you're returning to the work force after a long absence or you have commitments that require you to work from home. Or maybe you're entrepreneurial minded and are looking for an amazing startup to join but you sadly can't commit to it full time. Could a small guaranteed monthly sum of cash allow you to dip your feet in?
Whatever the circumstances, if you find what we're building at slips.gg (and what we've built previously at slips.io) interesting and want to apply for this position, please send us a letter after reviewing whatever is publicly available at our business (join our community on Discord? review our medium blog?) and outline what you would do in the first few weeks of starting this job. What do you think we need to do as a matter of priority? What processes would you implement? What big wins for low effort could you deliver to hit the ground running?
