Your Mission

As a As a Principal UI Artist, you will conceptualize and design the game’s user interfaces. You will have a command of AAA console UI development, processes and best practices. You will partner with stakeholders to define and conceptualize interfaces and translate and present them to production-level mock-ups. We value a culture of collaboration and are seeking an imaginative, skillful, and versatile Principal UI Artist to join our team in the San Francisco Bay area. If you share a passion for developing groundbreaking gameplay with a proven team, and have experience in AAA console games, then this may be the position you’ve been waiting for!

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and define the UI’s visual identity .
  • Create high quality foundation for game interfaces.
  • Ensure the consistent visual style from initial mock-ups to final product.
  • Design all 2D and 3D elements of the game UI, including HUD/GUI, start-up sequences, loading screens and main and sub-menus.
  • Work with UX designers to determine the functionality and features of the UI and translate high-level gameplay ideas into visually functional UI designs.
  • Partner with designers and engineers in the implementation of UI visual style
  • Uphold impeccable documentation.

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a UI Artist, preferably in console/PC and AAA games.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience with typography, graphic design, motion design, alphabetical systems and iconography.
  • Exceptional proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of UX principles
  • Takes and understands direction well, meets deadlines and handles multiple tasks
  • Can show a portfolio showcasing UI implementations across multiple titles
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills

Extra Points:

  • Motion graphics design experience
  • Understanding of games creation tools and middleware
  • Understanding of visual programming
  • A creative thinker who feels comfortable experimenting and presenting approaches and solutions that help push the edge of what’s possible with UI.
  • Interested in technical aspects of the UI Art
