We’re a game development team based in Los Angeles, dedicated to the idea that online games can deliver deeper, more meaningful experiences. We’re looking for a talented *Senior Game Designer or Senior Combat Designer* to take ownership, and drive the vision for, a large chunk of the core gameplay systems and content in our first game.

Expectations & Responsibilities

  • Design and document new gameplay systems, shepherding them from the concept phase through iteration in a live environment
  • Create and tune compelling content that shines each of our gameplay systems in their best light
  • Liaise with the Game Director and Leadership to ensure design decisions are moving us closer to achieving the game’s vision and adhering to company values
  • Create and manage complex data sets to ensure an ideal player experience
  • Assess and incorporate feedback from the team, user testing, and the community
  • Provide feedback and advice on all aspects of the game’s design
  • Ready and willing to assist in other areas of the game when necessary

Requirements

  • 5+ years in a game design role at top tier studios
  • Shipped at least one game with market or critical acclaim in a role in which you owned key core gameplay systems
  • Experience designing systems whose success depends on Feel in a networked, multiplayer context
  • Experience and willingness to work in-engine prototyping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A great collaborator in multidisciplinary teams

Preferred

  • Experience working in, or adjacent to, the community simulation genre
  • Experience creating systems and content for free to play games
  • Experience tuning and balancing systems for a live player environment
