As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead and build a team of talented engineers, partnering with our Technical Director to help the team achieve a cohesive engineering vision that takes into account and enhances the player experience at every turn. As part of a rapidly growing studio, being passionate about games, cultivating a growth mindset, and a fearless approach to problem solving are a must.
Expectations and Responsibilities
- Build and organize high performing engineering team
- Hire and lead software engineers across multiple product teams
- Cultivate long term growth in our talent and continue to build upon a culture of collaboration and productivity
- Help architect, evolve and implement our engineering development practices
- Ensure direct reports meet their product team’s expectations as well as engineering performance expectations
- Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to the game
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or better in Computer Science or related field
- 10+ years of experience as a software engineer / manager
- 3+ years of experience managing and hiring internal software engineers
- Demonstrated proficiency in C/C++
- Excellent math skills with an emphasis on 3D math
- Effective at working in cross discipline teams to achieve a shared mission
- Experience implementing and running multiple types of software development processes
- Motivated by creating great games
- Passionate gamer on your own time
- Legally authorized to work in the US
Preferred
- Professional experience working in Unreal 3 or Unreal 4
- Bachelor's degree
