The leading Nordic manufacturer and retailer of gaming equipment is looking for an experienced backend engineer
Shark Gaming develops and produces high-end gaming equipment. We sell it under our own brand directly to end users, eSports associations and companies via our Nordic web shops. We are growing and have high ambitions for further international expansion. To support the journey, we are currently looking for a sharp backend engineer.
Tech shark that smells blood
You will be developing our new online store in Magento 2, migrating our current Magento 1 solution, integrating third party plugins, integrations and accounting software. You will have a key role in building custom solutions for our shop to ensure our ambitious goals as a nordic market leader in gaming systems.
You will be a part of the development team which consists of our CTO, you and a frontend engineer.
The main tasks of the position are:
- Building our new platform in Magento 2 in collaboration with our frontend engineer
- Working with continuous integrations and clean code
- Ensure scalability for rapid international expansion
- Integrate third party plugins and integrations
- Build custom solutions for webshop and configuration options
- Monitor and ensure professional performance, also in peak traffic
- Ensure caching and page speed is optimal
- Provide data sources for business intelligence
We expect that you have a strong background in object oriented php, and have been building custom solutions preferable in ecommerce.
You are insatiable on web development, new trends and clean code. And have the ability to keep a cool mind, maintain structure and overview in a fast-paced scale up.
It will be a big plus if you are a gamer (i.e. on a hobby level), so you understand and have insight into our world. Furthermore, you have:
- >5 years experience with object oriented PHP, MVC
- Experience with MySQL and database structures
- Worked with the continuous delivery approach
- Worked in Git/flow
- Experience with advanced caching methods
- Experience with REST APIs
A big plus if you have:
- Experience with the Magento 1-2 platform
- Certification in Magento development
- Experience with Apache/nginx, hosting in general
- Experience with Elasticsearch or similar
- Experience with Redis, Memcached or similar
