You will be a valued member of our world-class Visuals team, partnering with our Head of Creative in leading and executing all artistic elements of Secretlab’s creative projects. This high impact role requires an exceptional eye for visual styling and direction, as well as the assertiveness to grant final/ intermediate layers of approval for projects.

Apart from supporting our internal initiatives, you will also be involved with collaborative materials for our partnerships with world-renowned brands such as Game of Thrones, Batman, Cloud9, Team Secret, as well as international esports organisers such as Riot Games for their League of Legends global tournaments.

Responsibilities

  • Introduce and apply expert art direction to the visual elements of creative projects.
  • Ensure a high standard of visual execution across all media and campaigns.
  • Reviewing the work of designers and providing clear direction and feedback.
  • Monitoring team morale.
  • Inspire and motivate the team to be creatively progressive, through the application of fresh and inventive visual work.
  • Uncover new ways to incorporate emerging and new media formats into campaigns.
  • Responsible for both conceptualising and executing content for our website, print media, and social media platforms. You should be proficient in both ideation and technical skills.
  • Cross departmental collaboration with the wider marketing teams.
  • Resource planning and team projection.
  • Conduct interviews and assess candidates for their respective roles.
  • Coordinate with project managers to meet staffing requirements for launch campaigns.
  • Onboard and mentor new designers.
  • Ensures designers have adequate training to carry out their tasks.
  • Charting the career roadmap for each designer.
  • Ensures proper goal planning, monitoring progress and appraising the respective designers.
  • Assign designers to launch campaigns.
  • Creating programs for members of the Visual Team to share expertise and past insights.
  • Respond to feedback and resolve disputes within a team.
  • Liaising with the People Team to ensure designers adhere to organisation policies.
  • Maintain and update the team structure by updating the designer’s job requirements and job descriptions accordingly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • You should be a veteran art-based creative with at least 5-7 years’ experience, currently taking on an Art Director position or its equivalent.
  • You should have a proven track record of leading visual styling and art direction on successful campaigns (preferably social/ digital)
  • Prior experience leading and mentoring a team of creatives
  • Able to manage and drive junior designers to support concept/ design development
  • Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Keen eye for visual details and accuracy
  • A perfectionist at heart with attention to detail
  • Passion for, and interest in, the esports industry
