At Scopely Playa Vista, you’ll be working with some of the best developers in the world from hit games and franchises including Command & Conquer, Battle for Middle-earth, God of War, and Diablo.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for establishing and promoting technical best practices for the content creators
  • Principally responsible for rigging, skinning and integrating characters and props
  • Be the first responder to our content creators when technical issues arise with their work
  • Work closely with members of the engineering team to design and assist in the development of tools and pipelines for Artists, Animators
  • Own the implementation, optimization and maintenance of the Art pipeline
  • Own the technical budget of all the assets in the game, ensure they are valid for game play and optimized for performance
  • Facilitate communication between the Art, Engineering and Design teams relating to technical needs and guidelines
  • Work with art team to implement assets into engine
  • Consistently strive to exceed the highest quality standards of the studio

What you will need:

  • 4+ years Technical Art experience in a video game production environment.
  • Strong Scripting and Coding Skills (ie. Python & C#)
  • Experience with Tools Writing and Designing Creative Workflows
  • Experience with various art packages including Photoshop, Maya and Unity
  • Experience working within and optimizing a Unity pipeline
  • Working knowledge of Asset Management Tools (ie. GIT & Perforce)
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting technical issues and possess strong problem-solving skills
  • Superior communication skills, organizational, time management and interpersonal skills

Desirable Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with fighting/combat system development
  • Experience with mobile development pipelines, F2P, live games in particular
  • Credit on multiple shipped titles
  • Proficiency in understanding of and facility in creating rendering systems, including shaders, complex materials, lighting rigs.
