At Scopely we are searching for a Senior Backend Engineer to join the game platform team in Barcelona.
As part of the game platform, you will join a great team of engineers who provide technology to help studios build and operate games faster and better. What you will do:
- Design and build applications which have an immediate impact on all of our game development teams, our live operations teams, our marketing teams and our players.
- Collaborate closely with our worldwide community of game developers at partner game studios, assisting their integration with the platform, and working together to deliver experiences to our players.
- Last but not least... you will join a small, growing team that supports a diverse range of game genres and studios, solving far reaching challenges across the full technology stack.
What you will need:
- Mastery of Java, C# or another OO language, including experience with asynchronous, multi-threaded, parallel programming paradigms
- Strong computer science and engineering fundamentals (data structures, concurrency, design patterns, algorithms)
- Experience building low-latency, highly available web-scale distributed systems (>500k RPM)
- Communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate across time-zones with cross-functional departments including game design and product management
- Full professional command of English
Other helpful skill areas:
- Hands-on experience with and understanding of AWS services (EC2, SQS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, etc)
- “Infrastructure as code” with CloudFormation or other similar languages
- Experience managing Kubernetes clusters
- Front-end js web development, on a modern framework such as Angular or React
- Unity tools and/or plugins development
- Mobile development (Android or iOS)
- Familiarity and experience with high-velocity continuous delivery practices
