You will work with the Director of Product, the Lead Game Designer, Lead UX Designer, the Creative Director and the Art Director and help evolve the current game experience to make it more accessible and broadly appealing. You will be the UX expert and voice of the team, advising as well as hands-on working on design proposals and prototypes.

Responsibilities

  • Apply your UX knowledge and players feedback to help improve and evolve the current game experience
  • Review existing features to ensure they are easy to understand and engage by our players and suggest areas of improvement
  • Be part of the pre-production process for new features and oversee its development to ensure that we provide the best possible player experience
  • Validate that game information is well conveyed through the various user interfaces
  • Follow the most recent market trends and UX best practices displayed by competitors and go above and beyond that
  • Ensure a best-in-class social execution
  • Work closely with art and UX leads to establish a consistent visual identity and language
  • Collaborate with UI artists in the creation of UI artwork that leads to visible, accessible, user-friendly and engaging features
  • Apply and maintain a unified user flow throughout gameplay systems and features
  • Iterate using player and team feedback to optimise for simplicity, comprehension, and function

Requirements

  • Experience prototyping and collecting player feedback early in the development cycle
  • Understand core challenges of mobile UI
  • Ability to work well within a dynamic, cross-discipline, and iterative team environment
  • Self-motivated and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive and collaborative, no ego, attitude and an ability to receive and provide objective and useful feedback.
  • Awareness of current trends in casual mobile games
  • Ability to develop and communicate complex systems on Core, Meta and Social layers using wireframes, user flow, mockups, prototypes and storyboards.
  • You can receive the vision for a feature and make it your own
  • You have experience with user centric design and prefer to validate different options rather than making assumptions
  • Experience designing and extracting learnings from A/B tests and user testing.
  • You’re someone who is self-motivated, who thrives in an agile environment
  • You have deep passion for creating polished, innovative gameplay experiences for casual mobile games
  • Strong eyes for visual design and understanding of visual communication.
  • You have good knowledge of game design and design theory
  • Strong communications skills, both in-person and remotely

Preferred experience

  • 3+ years of previous mobile game UX design experience as UX Researcher, Game UX Designer and Game Designer
  • Experience in casual social games with deep customization and meta progression systems
  • Consistent record of creating impactful features on live games
  • Experience in all phases of the design process, including concept development and prototyping, to deliver a high-quality experience in partnership with Lead UXD/PM/GD/Art/Engineering.
  • Experience on Live Operations (ideally in casual games) in a data-driven game organization that has given them analytical insights into their designs
