We’re looking for an outstanding Payroll Manager to lead Scopely’s US payroll function. The ideal candidate exhibits patience, teamwork, motivation, critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and an upbeat attitude. This role will be primarily responsible for executing Payroll processes in the following functional areas: reconciling payroll, maintaining hourly employee’s timecard punches, reviewing benefits enrollments, and updating ADP to comply with all state and federal tax laws.

What you will do:

  • Ensures accurate and timely submission of multi-state payroll processing and tax filings;
  • Compiles, analyzes and reconciles payroll data with accounting;
  • Process leaves of absence and reconciles coordination of state and carrier disability pay benefits;
  • Ensure all employee benefit elections are appropriately captured as payroll deductions and in earnings statements;
  • Support relevant HR audits and filings related to EEO-1 reporting, benefits compliance, 401(k), and workers compensation in partnership with manager;
  • Enters non-recurring payroll changes and adjustments in payroll system;
  • Processes all payroll tax related transactions including but not limited to new hire tax set up, termination payments, taxability of benefit deductions, federal/state/local tax withholdings, supplemental income taxation; taxable fringe benefits, visa tax exemptions, equity grants and option exercises;
  • Ensure compliance with required wage and hour laws;
  • Data entry of new hires, terminations and deduction changes;
  • Handle inbound employee pay inquiries, identifying need, processing necessary transactions and escalating issues as required;
  • Provide support on other HR projects as needed.

What you will need:

  • At least 6 years experience with multi-state payroll administration with 3+ years at lead/supervisor job level;
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce payroll is required;
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Experience with a private company with 500+ employees or larger preferred;
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
