The Director of Game Operations is the cement across the game teams, the Central Functions and Scopely leadership, collaborating and supporting all these stakeholders through the Game Development Framework and the Live Service Framework, and providing all necessary support to build and live-operate great games.

This newly developed role will be reporting directly to the VP of Production and Operations and is a critical leadership role within the SRO organization (Strategy, Research and Operations), acting in close partnership with a portfolio of game teams and Central Functions.

This role is ideal for a strong operator that is always looking to partner across multiple functions, optimize processes and capabilities, and support game teams in achieving their goals. As the leader of Game Operations, you will have a broad perspective on the games in development and live-operations, and will create and administer processes (GDF / LSF). You will need to leverage your strong experience in game development and have a keen understanding of game team challenges and needs. Strong in establishing robust partnerships and durable trust, you will work closely with all the stakeholders in game teams and central functions to support both of them to achieve their goals.

What you will do:

  • Administer and enhance our Game Development Framework and Live Service Framework, working closely with the VP, Production & Operations, the Chief Business Officer and the Co-CEO.
  • Partner closely with the game team's General Manager and Executive Producers to support their short and long term development objectives.
  • Partner closely with Central Functional leaders to facilitate great collaborations with the game teams.
  • Represent the function of Production centrally and partner with the EPs on risk assessment, define mitigation plans that deliver great outcomes for the product.
  • Translate short and long-term objectives into a clear operation and action plan.
  • Drive central initiatives and projects to ensure game teams readiness in terms of adoptions of new Partners requirements and standards.
  • Partner with EPs to ensure progress for each development phase of the product.
  • Constantly review current processes and systems and improve upon them to make a more efficient production organization.
  • Centralize and document both ‘requirements’ and ‘BKMs’ (Best Known Methods) and share them with the game teams.

What you will need:

  • 8+ years of managing cross-functional teams
  • 10+ years of development video games
  • Amazing team leadership experience, inspiring high performing teams.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of project management, software development methodologies and tools.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to motivate your partners and influence without authority.
  • Understanding of KPIs, including but not limited to MAU, DAU, ARPPU and conversion rates.
  • Experience with an internal development team; experience in managing distributed development is a plus.
