Are you passionate about using data to provide better decision intelligence and reshape business operations? Are you interested in building data science products to predict our users’ behaviors and optimize their in-game experience?

Scopely is seeking a Data Science Lead for our Playgami Platform. As a Data Science Lead, you will lead and develop a high-performing group of data scientists to create impactful data science products.

Playgami is Scopely’s internal SaaS B2B platform for games. It offers the tools that help operate our multiplatform games, supports millions of users playing our games daily, and processes the huge amount of data they generate. You’ll join a great team of inner-motivated, ambitious individuals from diverse disciplines and backgrounds who strive to create the world’s best products for game production, operations, and insights while having fun at the same time.

Partnering with Playgami’s product analytics and data infrastructure teams, you and your team will be responsible for defining, designing, and bringing to production a broad range of data science projects such as predictive analytics, optimization, or segmentation.

You should be a rare breed of business-savvy, analytics powerhouse, and technologically proficient leader, capable of understanding stakeholder needs, finding adequate methodologies to solve their problems, and implementing them efficiently so that they scale when working with terabytes of data.

Location:

Playgami project is based in Barcelona, but we are happy to hire candidates who will be working remotely from any other city in Spain, the UK, or Ireland.

What you will do:

  • Lead the process of creating new products, from their inception to putting them in production
  • Collaborate with other technology teams to integrate the data science products with the rest of Playgami’s product offering
  • Actively participate in defining the roadmap for the data science team, identifying high-value opportunities for our function
  • Partner with our product manager to communicate analysis methodologies, results, and usage of those results to different profiles from engineers to business users
  • Manage a team of data scientists. Provide mentorship, support, and career guidance

What you will need:

  • Proven capacity for leading teams
  • Great knowledge of statistics and machine learning. Understanding of the fundamentals of the most common machine learning algorithms
  • Advanced level of scientific Python and SQL
  • Experience in working with huge datasets – exposure with Spark or BigQuery is a plus
  • Full professional command of English
  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience
  • At least 5 years of work experience
