As a technical program manager for global data infrastructure, you will support a wide range of stakeholders and engineering teams to build cutting edge data infrastructure in order to help Roblox’s rapid international growth as well as achieve Roblox’s long-term vision of a unified global infrastructure architecture.
You are:
- A technical leader with a strong engineering background and 5+ years experience in building large scale backend solutions.
- A domain expert in building data infrastructure to support products’ international growth
- Experienced with addressing access, sharing, and replication challenges for offline data globally
- Able to navigate cross timezone and cross company collaboration scenarios
- Able to analyze a large scope engineering project and break it down to a feasible execution plan, identifying the owners, stakeholders, and blockers of each action item.
- Experienced with establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and demonstrated critical thinking
- Experienced with identifying critical technical problems and opportunities
- Data driven strategic thinker who is capable of conveying ideas through detailed specs
- Experienced with delivering end to end technical programs through effective roadmapping and reliable execution
- Able to turn specific solutions into systems that benefit larger community in the long run
- Able to work effectively in a fast pace environment with competing resources and priorities
- Knowledgeable about engineering needs, scoping, planning, execution and delivery
- An outstanding communicator both technical and program
- A self starter with high degree of self direction and independent drive
- Flexible around process, using process as a tool when it makes sense for a team
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin
You will:
- Drive engineering efforts to define and implement a unified global data infrastructure architecture
- Help key stakeholders and engineering teams to develop long term cloud infrastructure strategy globally
- Observe and identify the inefficiency and frictions of the existing engineering practice, then propose and promote tactical process improvement.
- Align senior leadership and key stakeholders around program roadmap
- Manage cross-functional programs end to end, focusing on what is best for long-term success
- Unblock teams and enable them to stay true to top priorities
- Enable engineering teams to reliably manage all project phases
- Effectively use data driven approach to inform teams' direction
- Manage dependencies across teams and components
- Own measurement of success of programs
