This position will be based out of Roblox HQ in San Mateo. The Roblox Sourcing and Procurement team is hiring a Sourcing and Procurement Specialist to support the growth of the company focusing Corp IT related needs. The Corp IT team is all about focusing on Robloxian productivity by enabling employees to get what they need when they need it.
As a Procurement Analyst - Corp IT you will lead all aspects of supply chain readiness such as employee hardware, software and budgeting for our global workforce including IT infrastructure for our remote offices both domestic and international. In addition, you will work with cross-functional teams to ramp efficiently. You will demonstrate domain expertise in material readiness, clear to build, supplier and contract manufacturer management, procurement, manufacturing, and will be well versed in other aspects of Operations and Engineering that impact supply chain strategies and execution.
You Will:
- Lead the vendor selection process and business justification
- Demonstrate ability to analyze and interpret spend and cost data, including understanding of Total Cost Ownership
- Manage supplier relationships with a focus on supply/contract and cost management.
- Identify supplier capabilities and ensure supply base can support Roblox growth
- Work collaboratively with other Sourcing Specialists, Sourcing Managers, Category Managers, and Buyers, support analytics when needed
- Perform internal software audits and create software baselines to ensure software license compliance standards within Roblox IT infrastructure
- At a high level confirm and reconcile deployment records with discovery data, contractual and entitlement records
- Utilizes Software Asset Management tools and methodologies to maintain the accuracy and automation of reporting and asset tracking
- You will work closely with Engineering, Talent Acquisition, People and Finance teams to forecast hardware and software needs for our rapidly growing company
- Strong contracting experience and understands business risks and addresses them on legal documents with potential suppliers.
- Ensures NDA, SOW's, GTC’s, License and Master Service Agreement are positioned appropriately before business is initiated.
- Drive price and term negotiations processes to ensure that Roblox's commodity pricing are best in class and with risks mitigated on contract
- Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad hoc price negotiations
- Essential activities include generating Purchase Requisitions software requests and annual maintenance/support renewals and assisting in annual budgetary validations and trending.
- Monitor software maintenance renewal requirements while coordinating with software owners on operational requirements
- Interpret software license agreements and identify rules, obligations, and product metrics to ensure compliance with all software licenses agreements and software usages
- Perform root-cause analysis on technical software system problems and recommend or execute corrective action
- Identify data inaccuracies preventing smooth workflow and implement scalable solutions
- Build documentation and quick reference guides around Sourcing and Procurement
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3+ years of related experience
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent job experience
- Experience planning supply roadmap outlook 2+ yrs out
- Conceptual knowledge of software licensing models
- Hardware planning and procurement experience
- Working knowledge of asset management principles and concepts applicable to software asset administration
- Advanced knowledge of Excel, Google sheets or other data analysis tools used to coordinate and combine large data sets into actionable results
- Experience working with vendors such as Apple Business, Dell Direct, CDW, Aruba and Juniper Networks is a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Software contract analysis and negotiations experience
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work well under pressure; manage tight deadlines and situations where conflicting priorities arise
- Deep understanding of vendor landscape, and vendor’s profitability levers, operating model, and account management practices
- Experience working in a fast paced environment and in a role that requires influencing across different levels in the organization (internal and vendors)
