As an Engineering Manager in Avatar Marketplace Discovery team, you will be responsible for search and recommendation of an international marketplace for millions of virtual items that users could acquire to customize their avatars and identities on Roblox platform. With the goal of making items easily discoverable and recommendations more relevant to each user, the team is building infrastructure and data pipelines to enable the use of machine learning for search and personal recommendation. We are looking for a leader with strong technical background in relevant areas to manage a team consisting of machine learning engineers, big data engineers and backend engineers to tackle both engineering and product challenges ahead.
You Are
- Have strong people management skills and in-depth technical knowledge regarding machine learning infrastructure and data pipeline
- Have managed teams to deliver system or data pipeline that leveraged machine learning for recommendation, pattern matching, or analytics purpose
- Have proven track record of hiring and growing an motivated and efficient engineering team
- Able to contribute to system architecture and design decisions, and comfortable getting your hands dirty when needed
- Have excellent communication skills and know how to work with product managers on multiple projects concurrently
- Passionate about the pursuit for truly personalized recommendations
- A experienced engineering manager with 8+ years of work experience including 2+ years of management experience
- A Computer-Science graduate or MS graduate
You Will
- Experience in managing both people and technical aspect of a machine learning framework/data pipeline team
- Technical experience in designing and building machine learning framework/pipeline processing data at scale, preferably for ranking/recommendation purpose
