The Senior Manager, Strategic Advisory role defines and provides a reliable governance program focused on technology use and spend for Riot. You will have both a deep financial background, and direct experience working in highly technical organizations focused on Technology and Infrastructure usage. You will oversee the oversight, visibility, and education of our departments who consume technology services. Usage covers economics and financials, security and technology, and you will distill down large amounts of complicated data in a self-service and semi-real time way. You will drive reporting on usage for our department leaders, advisors and technology leadership teams, so they are informed when there are variations to plan, or when expectations are not being met observing Riot’s standards. This position will report to the director, Technology Business Operations & SA.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visibility and education to guide consumers resulting in Central Technology understanding the right things are happening with usage of Tech.
  • Provide and maintain self-service consolidated reporting across finance, security and technology services.
  • Create standardized usage reporting, reviewing it with each department’s leadership team on a monthly basis for follow ups and action items.
  • Cross-collaboration across the department leaders, finance, central accounting, technology, and advisory.
  • Lead quantitative analysis through others on early detection of variances to forecast, usage and usage patterns.
  • Manage from the front, prioritize, and guide the bigger mission forward by translating vision into results.
  • Improve the effectiveness of processes that are working well and build the next level of improvements, set standards for deployments at scale, infrastructure reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Ensure Governance’s strategic vision is aligned and consistent with Riot’s top-down strategy

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in finance, related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • Understanding of the constraints of project delivery across scope, time and budget and will have applied this knowledge previously.
  • Experience guiding teams down the right path even if it’s unpopular or difficult to traverse to ensure it provides value.
  • Expertise building agreement, can anticipate reactions from partners, and guide them on decisions based on facts and past.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience as a coach, development manager, or people manager.

You use your suite of skills to level up creative ideas; you back up those with analysis, metrics, and stats. You know a thing or two about finances and accounting.
