As the Director, Program Management, reporting to the VP, Operations, you will oversee franchise management operations for your group - ensuring you have the right processes and capabilities to deliberately move franchise products through different lifecycle stages (incubation, pre-production, production) and to identify, plan, commit to, and work on impactful, complex, cross-product, and cross-team programs that these products will be a part of. You will work with many partners and leaders to implement the right processes, and will be directly responsible (potentially through building a team) for managing program delivery. While you will not have direct oversight over the products within the programs you manage, you will rely on process and influence to promote the right outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and operate program management processes (including requirements gathering, planning, delivery, post-mortems/learning, roadmap maintenance, and presenting status updates to relevant partners)
  • Integrate your group’s planning and delivery processes with the rest of Riot/XP team planning and delivery/status tracking processes
  • Co-responsible for designing and directly responsible for implementing and operating product lifecycle processes, including the product greenlight process
  • Manage actual program delivery in partnership with other program management leads (S.A., creative, business, and strategy)
  • Monitor and present senior leadership with the status of programs and important projects, and advise on/manage risks and constraints (budgets, timelines, scope)
  • Create systems for the heads of production for each sub-group to ensure delivery and agreement
  • Help bootstrap production processes for live action film/TV initiative
  • Support the heads of production on their production processes by mentoring, coaching, sharing best practices, providing feedback, or helping unblock issues
  • Hire and manage a team of project managers
  • Manage additional centralized production capabilities as needs arise (S.A. localization processes), either directly, by hiring a team to do it, or by outsourcing externally/to another part of the organization
  • Assist the Head of Operations by advising or assisting on the group-level processes and artifacts, integrating with other processes, S.A. SPF, staffing planning, vendor management, and more

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of film/TV (live action or animation) development experience
  • 3+ years of game development experience on multi-platform games with a live service component
  • 5+ years of leading successful teams in a production capacity throughout all stages of the production lifecycle (prototype, pre-production, production, launch, and full operation). Includes creating production plans and budgets/forecasts, outsourcing, and delivering high-quality results that meet both the creative and technical goals of the game
  • 3+ years of experience managing senior production leaders, building healthy, diverse, and inclusive teams (hiring, forming, norming, firing), developing org design, and growing/helping leaders reach their full potential

Desired Qualifications:

  • Expertise and working knowledge of best practices including project management, agile methodologies, software development, and waterfall
  • Experience with live action or animated film/TV production, game development, consumer products, and creative product development
  • Experience leading teams through uncertainty and promoting informed and aligned decisions
  • Can address strategic and operational challenges and evaluate options from a variety of lenses
