As a Technical Audio Design Intern, you will work with our award-winning audio team to implement interactive audio systems for our game. You'll gain hands-on experience with game engines and middleware, contributing to sound design. This paid, 12-week internship starts in summer 2025. You will be eligible to receive course credit for your participation in the internship.

Responsibilities

  • Implement sound effects, music, and dialogue using tools like Wwise and Unreal Engine.

  • Help create audio tools and systems.

  • Support audio debugging and troubleshooting.

  • Participate in team meetings, offering feedback and creative input.

Qualifications

  • Interest in sound design and audio technology for video games.

  • Familiarity with audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engines (Unity, Unreal).

  • Basic knowledge of DAWs (Reaper, Pro Tools).

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Appreciated):

  • Experience with scripting/programming (C++, Lua, Python) for audio implementation.

Location:

You will be onsite at your choice of locations in Chatsworth, California or Vancouver, Canada

HOURLY PAY RANGES

  • California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): º $19 - $28 USD Hourly

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $29 - $31 CAN Hourly

The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k). Interns in California are also eligible for Voluntary Disability Insurance.
