Development Managers are the owners for a product or major service/feature. They are accountable for the end-to-end quality. This involves scoping and strategizing for the QA business on the project, and performance managing the development of those plans from pre-production all the way to post-launch activities.

What the Development Manager Will Achieve at EA:

  • Work with testers individually to ensure their needs are met, including: Understanding their job satisfaction, troubleshooting issues they are having, escalating any blocking issues to the appropriate groups, and ensuring test coverage delivery.
  • Develop reporting mechanisms, management methodologies, and communication of processes and knowledge
  • Collaborate and help create the Quality Plan; establish a project budget, forecasting a staff plan, communication plan and an overall test strategy.
  • Build relationships within the QA teams and all development partners.
  • Communicate risks, concerns, and successes to partners.

Does This Describe You?

  • More than 2 years of managerial experience with some of those managing leads or managers.
  • Knowledge of software development processes, change management, and process improvement.
  • Experience managing projects for both short and long iterations; be able to scope varied sizes and length of a project.
  • Professional management training (PMP, PMI, MBA)
