SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Design Director, the game designer will work within a collaborative multi-discipline environment and will be responsible for the tasks described below.

Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with the Design Director and the Combat Designers in the design and implementation of AI combat behaviours, attacks, and abilities;
  • Work with the animation team to fine-tune the required functionality of enemy animations;
  • Support the 3C and AI design team in their daily implementation tasks;
  • Develop and maintain design documentation;
  • Work in collaboration with cross-functional teams (programming, level design, audio, etc.) to integrate and iterate game features;
  • Establish, maintain and improve relationships with internal and external creative resources;
  • Participate proactively in the search for solutions to improve the gaming experience.

Qualifications

  • Five (5) years or more experience as a game designer;
  • Ability to conceptualize, analyze and implement game ideas using a variety of tools and technologies;
  • Possess a critical, empathetic and collaborative mind able to accept feedback and iterate on features in a team environment;
  • Experience in Combat design is an asset;
  • Experience with Unreal 4 Blueprint or other visual scripting tool is an asset;
  • Excellent knowledge of game editing tools (including Unreal), an asset;
  • Advanced knowledge of video game culture;
  • Strong communication skills in French and English, both oral and written.
