Summary

Our IP driven studio (comics, podcasts, novels, TV, film, AAA games, merchandising) is presently looking to hire an E-Commerce Specialist. Reporting to the Head of Finance, while collaborating closely with Marketing and the IP team, the E-Commerce Specialist will be responsible for developing the digital sales strategy for all IPs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead B2C ecommerce sales strategy & tactics for our transmedia offering which includes a variety of categories;
  • Own the P&L, revenue targets for all our products, maintain and update revenue forecasts;
  • Manage direct licensees on royalty statements;
  • While working with the Head of Finance, the candidate will be the P&L champion for all our products;
  • Oversee digital and physical store activities to focus on increasing revenue and profitability.
  • Set or maintain sales objectives, annual strategic plan and the strategies required to reach the goals;
  • Forecast and analyze sales and site performance figures: produce reports, follow up on performance indicators and demonstrate creativity when suggesting actions to increase sales;
  • Develop and recommend marketing and retail strategies for multiple categories and help identify new business opportunities in emerging categories (digital, games, live experiences, etc.);
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to manage all aspects of the e-commerce business including, business planning, content strategy and development, promotional campaigns and other online marketing, website design, customer service, web analytics and web technologies;
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist and follow up on online sales campaigns based on event and consumer behavior and consider logistical aspects related to online sales;
  • Collaborate with the IP platform team & Brand Manager on the user experience of the website including site navigation, content development, checkout funnel and promotional campaigns;
  • Collaborate with the Social Media Specialist on media campaigns and newsletters, analyze and manage the client base and optimize segmentation;
  • Manage all aspects of web analytics related to e-commerce and communicate relevant information to team members, executive leadership and cross-functional partners on a regular basis;
  • Manage with key cross-functional teams to ensure all relevant organizational goals and implications are factored into e-commerce projects;
  • Identify new areas of e-commerce opportunity beyond current organizational thinking
  • Bring unique and exclusive offering and merchandises to our online store;
  • Continual improvement of process and commercial capabilities of the store and the platform;
  • Contribute to the development of the e-commerce site and tools;
  • Improve business processes by collaborating with vendors, colleagues, and other internal functional teams;
  • Keep abreast of market trends, consumer trends, competition, customer service issues and e-commerce technology and dynamics.
  • Ensure the best customer experience through our business partners;

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years of digital sales and / or online store management;
  • Bachelor’s degree in business-related discipline or equivalent experience required;
  • Experience within Film, Broadcast Entertainment, TV, New Media, Advertising or Music industrie;
  • Experience in digital project management or digital marketing, business administration, broadcasting or related field;
  • Experience with and working knowledge of North American retailers, media and trade environment;
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives;
  • Cross-functional project management skills, self-starter and accustomed to leading projects with little supervision;
  • Ability and desire to work at both the strategic and tactical levels;
  • Solid B2C sales and marketing track-record;
  • Outstanding analytical skills, strong aptitude interpreting test results & drawing conclusions;
  • Experience with Salesforce and web platforms like Shopify, DeMarque etc.;
  • Experience in collaborating with engineers, marketing analytics, UX/UI;
  • Experience in integrating user research and testing into the decision process;
  • Solid understanding and passion for websites, UI and Visual Site Merchandising;
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Adobe system;
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment and ability to create systems and procedures to accomplish customer satisfaction;
  • Able to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions;
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented self-starter who is able to work autonomously within a dynamic environment;
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment;
  • Experience in consumer products and entertainment licensing across multiple categories;
  • Strong affinity for the entertainment industry (book, comic book, TV, cinema, video game, board game, etc.);
  • Strong communication skills in French and English, both oral and written.
