Rebellion Oxford is looking for a Video Editor to join our in-house video team to produce exciting video content. Reporting to the Lead Video Editor you will be responsible for video production from concept to delivery – creating promotional material for marketing and our websites as well as cutscenes and in-game work.

Please include a link to your showreel demonstrating outstanding creative, visual and technical ability, preferably with notes on the project brief and work involved.

Games industry experience is preferred but not essential; of greater value is your ability to demonstrate excellent video production skills. Rebellion's team of video editors deal with the creation of imaginative marketing materials captured from within our game engine, shooting/directing/lighting live footage, creating motion graphics and going on location to shoot ad-hoc items to support Rebellions activities that extend beyond games to books, comics, TV & Film.

This is a full-time role usually based in-house at our Oxford headquarters. Because of COVID 19 working from home until further notice is required (editing equipment can be supplied to your place of temporary work if needed). However when restriction ease, you will be expected to resume your work placement back in Oxford. We can consider both permanent and fixed-term employment but not freelance or agencies. You must be able to legally work in the UK.

You will;

  • Have creative responsibility in creating high quality video content to promote Rebellion's latest projects.
  • Create video content such as trailers, behind scenes features and assets for social media.
  • Direct players while capturing game footage.
  • Create scenes using our game engine for use in trailers and cutscenes in-game.
  • Liaise with dev team, marketing team, audio department and management to complete tasks to universal approval.
  • Perform well under pressure, ensuring deadlines, budgets and high-quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Creative vision and understanding of aesthetics, composition, light and framing
  • Excellent ability with Adobe Premiere / Adobe After Effects / Photoshop
  • Excellent video editing skills
  • Excellent knowledge of post-production techniques including keying, rotoscoping and compositing
  • Excellent motion graphics skills
  • Experience with game engines such as Unreal or Unity
  • Experience with 3rd party plugins such as Optical Flares and the Trapcode Suite an advantage
  • Knowledge of game capture an advantage
  • Knowledge of photography an advantage
  • Knowledge of videography and filming an advantage
  • Some 3D knowledge an advantage
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly clear and accurate verbal and written language
  • A genuine interest in playing games and preferably some broad knowledge of the games industry
