We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new UI Designer and join our passionate and talented UI team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

As a UI Designer, you will need to solve complex UX problems and work with game designers and UI artists to create intuitive, beautiful UI designs—implementing these in game using a visual scripting tool set.

As part of the UI team, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of intuitive, beautiful and efficient UI that achieves both the target user experience and also the target art quality for the project. You will be designing user experiences in collaboration with UI artists and the design team, bringing your knowledge of UX fundamentals to champion user centered design.

This role would suit a UI Designer who has worked in a similar role and is looking to build on their skills. You will be skilled with wireframing and prototyping tools and be comfortable using a UX methodology to both define and solve player problems. You will be comfortable working to an existing style guide and be able to translate your ideas into high fidelity art targets using the Adobe suite. The ideal candidate will be a technically minded, player centric UI designer with a love of games who is able to champion the player’s perspective, reduce cognitive load and to build consistency across the product

The Rebellion UI team are responsible for the art, design and implementation of UI across multiple genres and multiple platforms. Do you love collaboration as much as we do?

Responsibilities:

  • Design multi-platform UI solutions for multiple genres and input devices
  • Create UI designs and UI artwork ready to be implemented in game
  • Learn to use a visual scripting tool set to implement your designs yourself—be a master of your own destinty!
  • Champion usability and accessibility
  • Welcome a diverse set of viewpoints from multiple teams, encouraging collaboration wherever possible
  • Build your expertise in a variety of technical and artistic fields
  • Manage simple bugs independently
  • Track and update the progress of day to day tasks using the designated tracking tools

Requirements:

  • Experience in a similar role
  • Portfolio of interaction design showing awareness of UX methodology, wireframing and prototyping
  • Portfolio of UI design showing awareness of hierarchy, context, typography and composition
  • Experience championing the player’s perspective, reducing cognitive load and building consistency across a product
  • Ability or desire to implement in engine using UE4 UMG / Unity UI, or a similar visual scripting toolset
