Are you an experienced UI Developer who wants to create a brand new project with zero technical debt?

Can you write code using a high level scripting language like C# or LUA?

We are looking for someone like you to become our all-new Senior UI Developer and join our passionate and talented UI team, where we are building on the years of success that Rebellion has enjoyed.

The Senior UI Developer is a new role dedicated to setting up the UI infrastructure for a brand new project, delivering technically complex UI features and optimising both runtime and pipeline implementation. You will set up a new project, create the core UI systems for that project and work with UI designers and artists to yield high performance and outstanding visual quality.

As part of the UI team, you will play a key role in implementing efficient, complex and beautiful UI that achieves both the target user experience and also the art target for the project.

This role would suit an experienced UI Developer who has been responsible for the UI of at least one shipped console game, and is skilled with one or more high level scripting languages, e.g., Java, C#, LUA, AS3 or Haxe.

Rebellion UI

The Rebellion UI team are responsible for the art, design and implementation of UI across multiple genres and multiple platforms. Do you love collaboration as much as we do?

Responsibilities

  • Set up a new project, ready for UI designers and UI artists to help you implement UI according to your guidelines
  • Create core UI systems for the project, e.g., responsive layout, atomic components, parametric buttons, logical menu flow, a high performance list box or tabular data layout
  • Implement efficient, complex UI designs and artwork that match the UI art target
  • Triage bugs and manage feedback in conjunction with the team lead and project producers
  • Assist with optimisation and debugging
  • Support UI designers, UI artists and UI technical designers with code reviews during implementation
  • Work with Technical Artists and Tools Programmers to improve efficiency of workflows, driving the toolset forward and actively pushing for new features where appropriate
  • Collaborate with the UI team to design UI features for multiple input devices on multiple platforms

Requirements

  • 4+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • At least one shipped console title
  • Experience with at least one high level language, e.g., Java, C#, LUA, AS3 or Haxe
  • Experience implementing responsive / fluid layouts
  • Experience creating, profiling and optimising core UI
  • Understanding of atomic / component driven design

Desirable:

  • Confident with Visual scripting
  • Experience using UE4 UMG / Unity UI
  • Experience creating innovative, complex UIs such as those seen in management games like Evil Genius 2
