We are looking for a Senior Backend Services Engineer to join Ready at Dawn in creating high profile original titles across multiple platforms. Senior Backend Services Engineer build our networking infrastructure to keep our players connected. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining in-house matchmaking, server management, server scaling, among other utilities. You will collaborate with the game teams to develop new services and extend existing ones. An ideal candidate is someone who can find creative solutions to challenging problems, and who also has experience with building services needed by multiplayer games.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and extend Ready at Dawn’s backend services for live games
- Assist with migrating Ready at Dawn’s game services into Facebook’s infrastructure
- Build new backend systems for upcoming gameplay features
- Support gameplay and design teams in adding analytics dashboards for new features
- Build internal tools for live support and backend content management
Minimum Qualification
- 5+ years of experience in developing backend services for games
- Experienced with C/C++
- Experienced with backend security, scalability, and database design paradigms
- Experienced balancing technical, aesthetic, problem solving, and communication
- Experienced filtering diverse feedback from artists, designers, and programmers and propose effective solutions
- With broad knowledge of games and game development
Preferred Qualification
- Shipped AAA titles
- Experience with Rust
- Experience with Python
- Experience with Go
- Knowledge of DevOps deployment tools (Terraform, etc.)
- Frontend web/JS framework knowledge (Angular, React, etc.)
- Experience with cloud providers (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Experience working with distributed computing platforms
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
