Ready at Dawn is looking for an animator to join us in creating high profile, original titles for both the VR and AAA console game spaces. The Animator must create compelling 3d animation for both interactive gameplay and cinematic cut-scenes. The motions must be visually stunning, while simultaneously satisfying the requirements of the game design and working within the technical limitations of a real-time game environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design and Gameplay teams to create compelling 3d animations for both interactive gameplay and cinematic cut-scenes
  • Create visually stimulating animations using foundational animation principals in a wide range of visual styles
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other animators on the team, as well as reviews and critiques for external animators
  • Help establish and maintain both aesthetic quality and technical performance standards
  • Collaborate with tools and rigging teams to continually improve upon our custom animation workflows and technology

Requirements

  • 3+ years games industry experience
  • Experience technical skills (key framing, thoughtful use of animation rigs, and efficient use of animation tools)
  • Solid understanding of game animation creation and implementation (exaggerated posing/timing, cycles, blending, animation layering)
  • Experience communication and collaborative problem-solving skills
  • Professional experience using Maya, Motion Builder, Premiere, After Effects (or comparable programs)
  • Demonstrate an understanding of animation principles
  • Open to direction and embrace change

Preferred

  • Proven drawing, editing, and photography skills
  • Submitted demo reels include samples of previous work and an exact breakdown of your specific contribution to the material submitted along with resume featuring references
