Job Responsibilities

  • Identify suppliers that will be able to meet cost, delivery, quality and service needs of the Company
  • Support pricing requests for project quotations, recommendation / selection of suppliers to be used, attaining / negotiating pricing and contractually-securing such supply (MCUs, sensors, Drivers, switches ect…)
  • Conduct periodic supplier negotiations
  • Develop a commodity strategy that include the optimization (either reduction or expansion) of the supporting supply base and risk mitigation.
  • Continuous improvement in other non-price terms and conditions to increase supply owned / managed inventory, expanding payment terms, reducing minimum purchase order quantities, improving incoming quality (ppm) that would be beneficial to the Company
  • Serve as the Supplier Relationship Manager, supporting supplier issues that are escalated to him/her. Such support shall include shortage escalations or other supplier failures to perform.
  • Define, review and maintain the Preferred Supplier List (PSL) for assigned commodities. Overall focus on maintaining good supplier relationships and total cost of ownership to a minimum to achieve maximum advantage for the company
  • Monitor current commodity market conditions, technology roadmaps and identify supply/demand challenges. Develop, implement and communicate tactical and strategic commodity plans internally and to suppliers as appropriate.

Pre-Requisites

  • 8-10 years of related experience
  • Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as internal relationship skills
  • Diploma / Bachelor’s degree in a technical (Electronics engineering) areas of expertise and extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices
  • Demonstrated success in Sourcing / Procurement role with a manufacturing company / organization that purchase electronics components and system related commodities
  • Successfully work with legal support and suppliers to attain needed compromise for complex supply contracts
  • Self-starter and capable of being highly successful in working autonomously with multiple constituents (suppliers, project teams, management)
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a fast-paced working environment
