Job Responsibilities :

The Product Manager is responsible for managing product development projects of intermediate complexity, from conception to golden sample sign off. The Product Manager works with the design team to develop new products including premium consumer electronics such as custom Xbox controllers and charging stands, video game peripherals, and soft goods such as Nintendo Switch bags and cases, using 3rd party licensed IP from top video game companies.

  • Responsible for the design and development of product lines for retail and ecommerce. Products include premium consumer electronics and soft goods such as custom Xbox controllers and charging stands, PlayStation custom controllers and charging stands, gaming peripherals such as keyboards and headsets, Nintendo Switch travel cases, bags, and merchandise. Products feature 3rd party IP from top video game companies.
  • Responsible for the design and development of packaging for retail and ecommerce.
  • Manage relationships with top tier Licensors such as Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation, LucasFilm and Disney including completing product submissions, approvals in licensor portals, and contractual samples.
  • Drive design direction, product choices, and quality standards, to deliver a compelling, premium product.
  • Work closely with third parties, vendors, licensors to deploy and support product.
  • Manage communications with internal teams such as program management and the design department.
  • Manage communication with suppliers and offshore manufactures, up until golden sample sign off.
  • Create and pitch product concepts and business cases. Create compelling power point presentations to pitch to Licensors and retail buyers. Identify products to send to mass/specialty markets that satisfy the consumer/retailer.
  • Launch product lines within budget and schedule.
  • Prepare samples of product line to present to retail buyers and other key decision makers.
  • Formulate product plans, line plans, including product positioning, target markets, category and competitive analysis, pricing/cost analysis, product lifecycle management, and product launches.
  • Work with the Design Team to spearhead the development of PDQ's, shippers and packaging.
  • Deliver product on time, on price, and with the features needed to succeed.
  • Assist with developing long-term strategy for the product category.
  • Assist in the development of prototypes and tooling methods to verify the functionality of product designs.
  • Review product, packaging submission submissions and factory ready artwork.
  • Assist in optimizing product performance and developing unique Intellectual Property.
  • Assist with evaluation of materials, forms and ingredients used to develop an interim or finished product.
  • Assist in documentation of product features and attributes.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Pre-Requisites :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of product development experience.
  • Able to manage product from creation to launch.
  • Experience working with engineering teams.
  • Experience in primary customer research.
  • Experience working with Licensors (preferably Disney, Nintendo, Xbox, and PlayStation)
  • Experience in the video game industry preferred.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, must demonstrate analytical and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work effectively within and across teams as well as with individuals of all levels.
  • Multi-tasker with great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-entity environment.
