Job Overview:

We are looking for an outstanding Production Project Manager to contribute to our continuing development of world-class mobile games targeting a mass market.

The ideal candidate is talented, creative, passionate, flexible, and eager to make their mark in the popular and competitive casual puzzle game space. Core responsibilities include managing a team of developers (front and back-end), artists and QA testers in order to push out quality products of the highest standard; as well as ongoing tuning based on testing and data metrics. The optimal candidate will also have a deep awareness of casual puzzle games and competitive products in the genre, and understand how new games are deploying new app features.

Success in this role requires a true team player with a love of puzzle games who understands and embraces the challenges of creating designs that are both elegant and appealing, as well as innovative yet accessible.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of developers artists and QA testers in order to create compelling puzzle games by fixed deadlines
  • Analyze user feedback and data metrics to tune and balance levels and designs
  • Perform comprehensive quality assurance (QA) on new game and app features; create test cases, identify and document issues, verify fixes, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with other designers to develop innovative and engaging new game and app features. Must be able to design for a mass-market target audience, delivering simple but elegant designs with broad appeal.
  • Create design documentation to define and illustrate game features
  • Work with design, art, code, and production teams to ensure high quality, accessibility, and gameplay standards are met across all game content
  • Remain ‘up-to-the-minute’ current on casual puzzle game genres and competitive titles
  • Contribute positively to the team; be a champion for the player and the game

Requirements:

  • Have played hundreds of casual puzzle game levels (e.g. Match-3) across multiple top games
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Quality Assurance (QA) experience
  • Be an active player of puzzle games, with a deep understanding of core mechanics, game loops, and supporting features
  • Willingness to accept and provide constructive criticism
  • Ability to effectively manage time and work efficiently in a deadline driven environment
  • Familiarity with Google Apps for Business (Mail, Docs, Calendar), Photoshop, and other software (Skype, Dropbox, etc.)

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working on games in live operation, preferably mobile
  • Awareness of monetization strategies in free to play games
  • Innate ability to analyze, understand, and articulate what contributes to quality puzzle level design
  • 3+ years of puzzle level design on at least one shipped title
  • Examples of shipped levels we can play
  • Understanding through previous development of game balancing and tuning processes and practices
