Overview of Purdue University Northwest Intercollegiate Athletics

Part of the internationally respected Purdue University system, Purdue University Northwest offers world-class educational opportunities at an excellent value on two culturally diverse, student centered campuses, located in Northwest Indiana and in close proximity to Chicago. Purdue Northwest has approximately 10,000 students and offers more than 70 degree programs at the baccalaureate, masters and doctoral levels. Overview of Assistant Esports Coach

Purdue University Northwest is seeking an Assistant Esports Coach to join our fastest growing co-ed sports team. In Fall of 2020, PNW was the first public university in Indiana to offer Esports at the varsity level. In Spring 2022, new esports arenas will open on both PNW campuses in Hammond and Westville, IN. The arenas feature 30 gaming stations using state-of-the-art equipment. The Assistant Coach will join our Head Coach and assist with planning, organizing, and coaching the esports team as they compete in League of Legends, Rocket League, Call of Duty and Valorant.

Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Esports Coach

  • Assist with daily practice and game coaching
  • Recruit prospective student athletes
  • Assist with team travel, summer camps and clinics and oversight of student athletes' academic progress
  • Assist with social media promotion and other communications

Experience of Assistant Esports Coach

  • One year esports coaching experience required at the professional, college, high school or amateur level for League of Legends, Rocket League, Call of Duty or Valorant.

Education of Assistant Esports Coach

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education or related program is preferred
