Your Mission

As a Lead Analyst in Business Planning & Database Analytics, Call of Duty, you will work closely with technology organizations and internal stakeholders across various teams to deliver critical CoD franchise metrics, analyses and support strategic business decisions (focusing on Revenue & Economy). Candidates must possess the passion, experience, skills, and abilities to turn large, disparate and complex data sets into meaningful metrics and intelligence that supports the needs of the business. As a company, we have a tremendous amount of data on how gamers play our games. What we need however, is a highly technical analytics expert who has the ability to turn that data into useful information for the business.

Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Build the use cases, requirements, logic and code for CoD business KPI’s (focusing on Revenue & Economy) and downstream dashboards: automating the recurring needs and requests of the business.
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert on CoD business metrics, player & behavioral insights for the organization in first 120 days.
  • Communicate franchise health and operations on a broad suite of CoD titles through regular reporting.
  • Work with the various business units, and executives to understand their business questions, goals and requirements and deliver timely on point analyses.
  • Provide data use cases, expertise and strategic direction to our technology and data teams to ensure Global Analytics can deliver best-in-class results.
  • Collaborate with other analytic groups across the organization to share learnings, best practices and methods.

Player Profile

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5+ year’s experience in database mining with at least 20TB datasets
  • 5+ year’s experience in translating data into actionable information for business leaders
  • 4+ year’s experience in data lake exploration with at least 1PB of data
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a quantitative field (Master’s is a plus)
  • Advanced SQL querying skills. Python, Pyspark, and Scala a plus
  • Experience working with the following data tools and platforms: Databricks, Pycharm, Github, Airflow, Redshift, AWS / Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience with very large, disparate, and complex customer behavioral data sets (gaming, e-commerce, streaming, social media) and expertise in ETL processes to define database schemas and optimize data infrastructure for analytic use cases
  • Working knowledge/experience in visual BI tools such as Tableau to build reports and inform with data
  • Must be an innovative thought leader. You anticipate issues whether they are data, team member, partner or bandwidth related, and you proactively and intuitively solve them. Your opinion is more than valued, it is sought after.
  • Must be a tenacious and self-catalyzing problem solver. You don’t settle for good enough or well enough, you prod every possibility, every outlier, every use case until you are positive you have a thorough solution. You don’t see problems you see opportunities for solutions.
  • Ability to confidently and thoroughly communicate not only data / information, but meaningful insights and recommendations for Sr. level executives
  • Process-oriented driving toward visibility, accountability, and communication.
  • Team-oriented, ability to build long lasting and collaborative relationships effectively. You work selflessly and enthusiastically, serving as a positive catalyst for collaborative solutioning
  • You contribute to the expertise in every data and analytic conversation and you listen with openness to other’s expertise
  • Ability to adapt quickly, with a high tolerance for ambiguity, and change (organizational, priorities, infrastructure etc.)
  • A passion for analytics and the products on which you work. (video game enthusiasm with a solid understanding of the connection of gameplay to spending behavior is a plus)
