Role: Director, Quality Assurance

Location: Montreal, Canada

Contract: Full-time, permanent

As our PTW Director, Quality Assurance, you will oversee and direct the global development QA organization and own a large global team, workforce planning, staffing, processes and support the other leadership directors. You will lead the QA efforts on all fronts, including feature development, automation, testing capabilities and compliance.

You will work closely with the our clients Game Development and Publishing teams to solve everyday problems and streamline deliveries. In partnership with our clients development disciplines, you will proactively innovate and improve on our QA philosophies and best practices.

You will be Directing and managing Quality Assurance professionals, mentoring, growing QA Leadership so they can produce new leaders in turn. As the QA Director, you are responsible in maintaining global alignment within the development QA organization and establishing clear communication on all levels.

Interested candidates will be ideally located in Montreal, Canada. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, this role will be a key strategic partner in leading our Quality Assurance line of business, and potentially overseeing our Localisation QA LOB on an interim basis.

What you’ll be doing

  • Process management
    • Analyse and determine resource requirements to support current QA/LQA needs
    • Forecast and communicate future QA/LQA needs
    • Own the implementation and management of QA/LQA operations to support organizational objectives
    • Manage daily client deliverables and the revenue achievable
    • Evaluate milestones and ensure that testing is carried out at the scheduled time and duration for each title
    • Evaluate, nurture and grow the skills and usage of our QA/LQA team
    • Prepares/reviews proposals based on RFPs and RFIs from new clients
    • Ensured the processes and documentation followed business and third-party audit compliance
    • Develop, set, evaluate and evolve the standards for success across the test organizations
  • Client satisfaction
    • Assessing client requirements for all the new business
    • Assessing and charting requirements for existing clients
    • Ensuring the client requirements are delivered with high level of satisfaction
    • Develops professional relationships with targeted clients
    • International/Local traveling may be required throughout the year
  • Project management
    • Understanding of the client business and SLA of the project
    • Ensure the information on client business, product knowledge, scripts, etc. are received from the client
    • Ensure monthly billing details of each project is sent to the Accounts Department
    • Single point contact for client
    • Manage daily client deliverables and the revenue achievable
  • Revenue
    • Be aware of revenue-wise projections and targets
    • Meeting revenue and margin targets for departments
    • Work with sales for new business proposals
    • Manage profitability of each account
  • People management
    • Ensure adequate staffing, training, and technical support on all the projects
    • Develop the QA/LQA management teams to enable them to excel
    • Foster an environment of creativity and innovation within the realms of test and facilitate the technical and non-technical skills development of the testing team
  • Compliance, process Reengineering and others
    • Ensure 100% compliance on all audit and informational security requirements. This includes ISO audits and any client specified compliance requirements
    • Oversees the maintenance, implementation, and auditing of all processes

What we’re looking for

  • You have
    • 10-15 years experience in the games industry across multiple platforms (PC/Console/Mobile)
    • Significant experience in Leadership capacity, managing and growing a QA/LQA team across multiple functions, projects, and locations
    • Ability to balance hands-on work in fast growth environment while driving big picture strategy and planning to support a scaling business
    • Ability to build strong partnerships and drive high level of collaboration across the organization including Executives, Sales, Support Functions, with global and local stakeholders
    • Demonstrated experience working with clients and/or external testing services, managing the end-to-end process of RFP reviews, contract negotiations and building the structure to support varied and scaling needs
    • Strong capability to adapt while promoting an inclusive and collaborative environment for team
  • You are a
    • Proven people leader that can drive change and inspire team globally
    • Data oriented and have experience using test automation systems (either off the shelf or custom) and involvement in helping define usage and drive adoption
