What You'll Do

Psyonix is seeking a Music Supervisor to work on Rocket League and future projects. This opportunity is ideal for someone who has worked in the intersection of the gaming and music businesses, has experience with a live game, and can thrive in a fast paced environment. Our music culture is one of bringing unique ideas to reality, fostering collaboration and creativity across various disciplines, and working on cutting edge music projects. Our ideal candidate must be self motivated and collaborative.

In This Role You Will

  • Work with the Audio Director to understand and execute overall music direction.
  • Supervision of music directives for Psyonix products
  • Oversee music assets that require multi-discipline collaboration; ensuring the team is aligned throughout development and release
  • Create, maintain and track music release roadmap
  • Work cross-functionally across all teams to develop partnerships with artists and labels for in-game soundtracks, marketing assets, and music partnerships.
  • Facilitate communication between legal departments, outsourcer sync reps, and labels/publishers
  • Negotiate business terms, create licensing requests and oversee execution with the legal team
  • Provide ongoing risk assessments with respect to weaknesses, bottlenecks, and risks

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ Years of music licensing experience and 2+ years working within an audio team, music production or related field
  • Prior experience in video game development
  • A deep understanding of music licensing
  • A basic understanding of game development
  • Self starter able to drive projects to completion
  • Experience with overseeing external development work and outsourcing
  • Excellent time management skills are a must
  • Must be detail oriented and display strong problem solving skills
  • Solid interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • High competency in negotiating license agreements
  • High competency in music licensing and/or business affairs, with experience in traditional media: Sports, TV, Advertising or Film

Nice To Have Skills

  • Familiar with Rocket League
  • Worked on a live game
  • Ability to do very minor audio editing
  • Existing relationships with sync reps are an asset, but not required.
