What You'll Do

We are looking for a Graphics Engineer to work with Artists and Engineers to create and develop visually stunning content for our games. Our ideal candidate is passionate about pushing visual fidelity of real time rendering systems while writing high performance code. As part of the Psyonix Graphics Team, you’ll get to work in a collaborative environment on a live game, where the end users of your work can be both developers and game players.

In This Role You Will

  • Design and implement new visual features for the Psyonix game teams, either using state of the art techniques in real time rendering or inventing new ones
  • Author new rendering passes and custom shaders for in-game special effects, extending and modifying the latest and greatest versions of the Unreal Engine
  • Work closely with artists to build new content pipelines within the game engine, editor, and/or 3rd party tools
  • Help the team set and achieve outstanding rendering performance targets across a wide range of PC specs and consoles, enabling the high framerates which our esports-centric community has come to know and love
  • Write robust and easy to maintain code for live service games reaching millions of customers via rapid release cycles

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of game development experience
  • Demonstrated competency in programming languages used in real time graphics for games such as C++, C#, HLSL, GLSL, or other shading languages
  • Strong 3D math skills
  • Cross-disciplinary communication skills and the ability to break down complex problems for your non-technical teammates
  • Understanding of 3D game engine design and various rendering techniques

Nice To Have Skills

  • Experience using Graphics Debugging, CPU Debugging, and Performance Profiling tools such as PIX or Razor GPU
  • Unreal Engine 3/4/5 experience
  • Experience with game console development on any recent generation device
  • Experience with mobile and handheld devices
