The company has built a central team that provides early stage infrastructure and long-term support to its studios on Operations, HR, Finance, BizDev, Tech, and QA, among other services. This unique model provides ProbablyMonsters studios the confidence, security, and stability to create and ship their games free of distractions.

We seek a Senior Data Engineer for the Data Services team. In this role, you will work with our Data Architect, and alongside our Game Services team, building data services which enable our studios to design amazing games for our players. It requires the ability to empathize with our customers while simultaneously pushing our data systems to be a key differentiator for our services and core to game design.

What You Will Do:

  • Innovate our data services to create a scalable, game-agnostic data analytics pipeline that serves all of our game studios and data stakeholders
  • Design and implement data lake and warehouse solutions
  • Work with our game services team on transactional data stores that meet the demands of AAA online games
  • Ensure all data services are highly available and recoverable in the event of disasters
  • Build supportable systems that enable successful and efficient live-ops support
  • Promote a culture of quality, reliability, and customer-focus

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Seven years of experience building and operating data systems for online services which support many thousands of users
  • Experience in a live-ops role through at least one major game launch or online services release
  • Three years of experience with:
    • Event streaming platforms such as Kafka
    • Designing analytics solutions and data lakes
    • High-throughput transactional data systems
  • Two years of experience working with data systems hosted in the cloud; including experience with at least one managed service
  • Ability to write code in TSQL, Python, C# or equivalent language(s)
