Popdog is exploring the relationship between gaming content creators and their communities. We believe that while creators are fantastic at building audiences, there’s much yet to be done to create real community. But we’re in need of more great people to see that happen. We’re a remote-first, venture-backed, fast-growing company that believes in the power of live streaming and content creation in gaming. Our team is small and singularly focused on changing the world of gaming for the better.

This position spearheads brand marketing and community growth and engagement as they intersect. The role would focus on clear brand development, evolution, and reach across traditional and experimental marketing channels, as well as building out a foundational community development plan for users and talent alike. This role would act as a public-facing mouth-piece for the company, facilitating Popdog’s place within the industry and garnering support and intel from users to improve user experience. We aim to be the best at meeting viewers and creators where they are and supporting them.

On any given day you might...

  • Drive content creator strategy, identifying potential new creators while supporting and building long-term relationships with existing partners.
  • Be the brand evangelist and influence company leadership and cross-functional teams, ensuring brand strategy is reflected across the business consistently.
  • Build foundational content and community strategy and user-facing communications, including active engagement on community channels and reactive messaging.
  • Build compelling product communications, such as blogs, patch notes, and social copy.
  • Develop and execute key community initiatives including contests, live events, content partnerships, and influencer/streamer programs and manage content calendars and milestones.
  • Planning company advertisements, monitoring brand campaigns, revising presentations, and shaping brand standards by way of creative and copy for both brand and product.
  • Develop brand and copy guides.
  • Establish schedules for short-term and long-term projects, plan tasks accordingly, and ensure goals and deadlines are met.
  • Ensure visuals, messaging, and interactive elements of a project are properly aligned with the creative vision and brand standards.

Ideally you have...

  • The eagerness to shape the development of a growing start-up and contribute to the design of products and creatives that shape the community experience for millions of viewers and creators.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong, empathetic decision-making skills with experience navigating delicate community and societal matters.
  • Experience with Confluence, Microsoft Office (Project and Excel, etc.), and bug tracking/product management databases (JIRA, DevTrack).
  • Knowledge of current industry trends, staying up-to-date on competitive products, industry news, drama, and best practices as they apply.
  • The ability to identify and grow diverse, multicultural teams in an international environment.
  • The ability to make arduous tasks and projects fun; proficient in positivity within leadership and across comms.
  • Can manage and grow a team that is diverse, multicultural in an international environment.

  • Have a strong network of brands, game developers, game publishers, and/or influencers.
  • Have experience working on the brand, game/dev pub campaigns with gaming influencers.
  • Actively participate in gaming and popular culture trends, technologies, and activities.
