PlayVS is building the infrastructure and official platform for high school esports. We work with game publishers and high school governing bodies to build and operate sanctioned leagues across the country. PlayVS is headquartered in Santa Monica, CA and is rapidly expanding.

As the Retention Marketing Manager, you’ll help us build strong relationships with players, teachers, coaches, parents, and members of industry associations across 20K high schools in North America. You’ll work with the marketing, community and design teams to create loyalty driven retention campaigns that improve the esports experience for our audiences. You’ll be the go to person for all things email and loyalty.

You’ll help us:

  • Oversee the email channel including overall visual strategy, tone of voice, and calls to action
  • Test new ideas and design template experiments. You love A/B testing and using data to improve decisions
  • Devise new ways to visualize results. You enjoy enhancing dashboards and reporting frameworks so that they easily showcase results from new initiatives
  • Create a consistent brand experience across multiple marketing touchpoints and audiences
  • Design drip campaigns, nurture sequences, and overall plans that test various delivery times, cadences and CTAs
  • Launch fun campaigns such as raffles, giveaways, LAN parties, and pop ups. You enjoy experiential marketing and innovative approaches to improve relationships
  • Build brand loyalty and measure whether we are continuously improving CSI and NPS scores via surveys, conversations and by suggesting product feedback features
  • Drive segmentation, automation and personalization to improve efficiency and increase loyalty

Requirements

  • 5+ years of email marketing experience
  • 2+ years of retention marketing or loyalty program experience
  • Thorough understanding of ICANN laws, state privacy laws and GDPR
  • Excellent writing skills. You enjoy well crafted communications and have an eye for detail
  • You also know technical considerations like DKIM, SPF, DMARC and feedback loops with ISPs, and can plan for multiple deliverability scenarios
  • You love audience demographic research and are eager to tell us some of the insights you’ve uncovered in previous roles
  • Expert at email tools such as Mailchimp and Mandrill
  • Proficient in Adobe CS software particularly Photoshop and Illustrator
