We offer an incredible, full-stack esport platform—game integrations, team building tools, leagues, tournaments, and schedules—and our software products tie everything together into a cohesive experience.
We are looking for a passionate Product Analyst to join our team. As at PlayVS, you’ll be involved in many aspects of our decision-making process, from brainstorming to launch. You’ll combine your data and analytics skills to level up the business with insights while building a deep foundational understanding of our users, product, and growth strategy.
Here's what you'll get to do:
- Design and implement an effective data and analytics plan, ensuring that we identify the most important questions and craft a detailed execution plan to answer them while operating with imperfect data
- Partner with multiple teams to define the measures of success, develop the analysis and reporting necessary to measure, understand and improve these metrics through standardized dashboards and ad hoc reports
- Proactively spot patterns in our user data that identify potential blind spots and opportunities and make recommendations for how to address them
- Develop experimentation strategy to continuously improve our competition platform
- Empower the company to make informed decisions by turning our user data into actionable insights
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment to answer critical questions with data or to make decisions in a short timeframe
Here's what we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 4+ years experience as a Data Analyst, ideally with competition or marketplace products
- 2+ years experience working closely with Product Managers, ideally at tech startups
- Expertise using SQL to manipulate data (e.g. window functions)
- Expertise with BI Tools such as Mode Analytics, Tableau or Looker
- Experience using Python to clean, transform and analyze data
- Knowledge of experimentation strategy to analyze the impact of new features (e.g., A/Bs, multivariate testing, switchbacks, casual impact, etc)
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to non-technical audiences, and influence decision-makers
Bonus points for:
- Experience with Airflow or similar workflow management systems
- Experience with Python machine learning packages
- Experience with statistical modeling methods and the ability to match business problems to the best statistical technique
