PlayVS is hiring! PlayVS is building a platform to service the broad ecosystem of amateur esports, starting with high school and we’re expanding — quickly. With our current and anticipated growth, we’re searching for somebody to own our hiring processes from start to finish.

PlayVS is in search for its first-ever Head of Recruiting. This is a hands-on recruiting role, with the future opportunity of hiring and managing a full-service in-house recruiting team. In this role, you’ll drive and support the full recruiting life-cycle for all hiring – technical and non-technical. You’ll also work with our leadership team to handcraft PlayVS’s recruiting policies, processes, procedures and long-term strategies.

Here’s what you’ll get to do:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruiting life-cycle: from writing job descriptions and sourcing to offer acceptance, you’ll own the recruiting process and be responsible for specific recruiting metrics
  • Deeply understand our hiring needs; partner closely with hiring managers and stakeholders to develop creative sourcing and hiring strategies in order to evolve PlayVS into an ideal destination for world-class talent
  • Develop and execute on a strategic sourcing plan/timeline to build a strong pipeline of candidates through channels including personal networking, social networks, blogs, forums, advertising, cold outreaches, and research methods.
  • Create near-term and longer-term recruiting strategies, overseeing relationships with external recruiting agencies when required.
  • Utilize broader trends and data in the business and industry to continuously improve the company’s brand from a hiring perspective and contribute to the broader talent acquisition strategic planning process
  • Define, track, and analyze internal talent acquisition metrics to ensure thoughtful and data driven approach to hiring metrics and goals
  • Develop efficient, responsible hiring processes and ensure a high-touch, high-quality candidate experience. Champion good will with all PlayVS candidates and help PlayVS earn a reputation for having a best-in-class interview process.
  • Guide leaders to create a consistent interview process and make transparent, unbiased hiring decisions that result in the growth of diverse, talented and sustainable teams. Provide internal trainings and coaching as needed.
  • Negotiate and close offers in a way that produces win-win outcomes

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • At least 5 years of recruiting experience within a tech startup (ideally with technical recruiting as a key component) or at an agency serving tech startups
  • Experience managing a recruiting team is ideal as the team scales
  • Proven experience with using innovative sourcing techniques
  • Experience and proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems and other common modern recruiting software and business tools (experience with Greenhouse preferred)
  • A calibrated sense of empathy for candidates’ and hiring managers’ concerns, and the strategic know-how to work with them to hit aggressive hiring targets
  • Grace and ease interacting with all types of people
  • A commitment to, and demonstrated track record of, delivering world-class service to internal and external candidates, hiring managers, and employees
  • The sense of urgency and organizational skills to juggle multiple job requisitions
  • Adaptability and openness to learning and incorporating new recruiting strategies, tactics, and processes
