Head of Operations - High School

PlayVS is building the infrastructure and official platform for high school and college esports. We work with game publishers, high school governing bodies and collegiate programs to build and operate sanctioned leagues across the country. Our software products tie everything together, creating the world’s first full-stack sports platform. PlayVS is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and is rapidly expanding.

PlayVS is looking to hire a Head of Operations to be based out of our headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.

This newly created role will partner with our VP of Central Ops in the end to end management of the high school business to accomplish fiscal year outcomes. As a strong and versatile business thinker, you will move fluidly from working with key cross-functional partners to diving deeply into complex issues facing our business to put together thoughtful point of views that set direction, advise and inform cross-functional teams and leadership.

The Head of Operations will report directly to the company’s VP of Central Ops and will work collaboratively with the Executive team to drive innovation, strategic direction and execution.

Here’s What You’ll Get To Do

  • Champion the vision for PlayVS high school strategies, in harmony with overall company objectives.
  • Own day-to-day business operations for our high school business.
  • Define metrics and KPIs we will use to measure the success of your team.
  • Layer expert analysis and insight on top of data to support decision making.
  • Drive execution against our plan in collaboration with product, growth, engineering and customer success: initiating, planning, documenting and pushing x-functional projects through accountability (owners and timing) and results (tracking and maintaining outcomes).
  • Continually find ways to make our process more efficient so we can deliver against our goals more quickly.
  • Assess challenges, develop solutions, evaluate their potential, and help to implement and evaluate big game-changing initiatives.
  • Manage a team of operations professionals

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years experience in management consulting, investment banking or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Marketing or Growth or Strategy and Operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA from a top institution.
  • Team management experience with an ability to work across teams and influence senior leaders.
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-changing environment, with an entrepreneurial approach.
  • Operational rigor combined with excellent business acumen, problem solving, project management and analytical skills.
  • Long-term strategic thinking balanced with near-term execution skills and the ability to take complex data and distill them into a meaningful and coherent story.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with peers, management, and cross-functional teams.
  • Executive-level written and visual presentation skills.
  • Prior experience working in the US is required
