Technical Director, Debug and Test

The PlayStation Studios Tools and Technology group lives at the intersection of PlayStation’s game and platform development. We seek a Technical Director to lead the development of our debugging and test technologies. If this is you please apply!

Responsibilities

  • You will provide technical leadership for our debugging and test technologies, including but not limited to:
    • Crash Reporting System (CRS)
    • Video capture and streaming systems
    • Debug and Remote target control systems
  • Communicate with highly motivated teams to gather requirements and effectively apply these innovative technologies
    • Including QA, platform development teams and game studios
  • Provide technical direction to the development team

Qualifications

  • A min. of 10 years professional experience working in games or consumer hardware development, including direct experience in one or more of:
    • Networking code
    • Windows Platform APIs
    • DirectX / console APIs or equivalent
  • Strength and a real passion for C and C++ programming
  • Some knowledge of C# and/or Java
  • Experience deploying and maintaining cloud hosted services
  • Great interpersonal skills (written and oral)
  • An interest in games and a dream to create something better

Nice-to-Have:

  • Development on the PlayStation platforms or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Machine Learning techniques and frameworks
  • Knowledge of FreeBSD or Linux kernel development
  • Experience with Windows Media Foundation
