Engineering Manager, Engineering Enablement

Do you like to optimize processes and create self service tools to improve Engineering Experience? Are you interested in being part of a diverse team?

The Productivity Tooling team builds tools and services to enable engineers to delight customers by seamlessly delivering value on demand. We play a key role in building and supporting tools that enable our internal teams to manage, operate, and deploy services to the platform.

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Leader or Manager who will own several projects and tools and provide our teams with the best user experience and support for onboarding services to the platform. You should have a strong technical ability, demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire your team to achieve outstanding results in a fast-paced environment. You have previously led or built strong teams of hardworking engineers and you enjoy working with exceptional people.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an onboarding process for the platform.
  • Collaborate with teams to find creative solutions to scale our onboarding processes.
  • Build and develop a high energy, committed, motivated engineering team focusing on engineering and operational excellence to deliver awesome business results.
  • Continually refine and improve existing processes through structured decision making and collaborative execution.
  • Align onboarding process with industry best practices.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Consistent track record of leading high performing engineering teams
  • Breadth and depth of experience building and running complex software systems and highly scalable/available software
  • 2+ years in a technical leadership or engineering manager role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confirmed ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science with minimum of 5 years of work experience with a minimum of 1+ years of DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Linux, Scripting, automation, Cloud, monitoring technologies; previous exposure to Docker, CoreOS, or another container platform.
  • Solid experience in deploying and managing resources on AWS.
  • Experience with distributed systems / micro service architecture.
  • Experience in deploying, operating, and running services in AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Bonus points for performance engineering and best practices around developing micro services (stuff like 12factor, understanding abstractions between infrastructure and application levels).
  • Experience with Linux experience (RHEL or CentOS preferred)
