Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (QA Lead)

Location: Waterloo, CANADA

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Client QA team. This person will be testing new and existing features on multiple platforms and devices in a software development environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead feature testing, create test plans to review with Product Owners and other team members for approval

  • Understand application features, ensure testing is completed, and issues are documented

  • Work with the QA team to build, maintain, and improve automated test suites and libraries

  • Work with console developers to ensure that all features and bug fixes come with automated test coverage

  • Collaborate with distributed teams for automation design and development

  • Work with the infrastructure team to maintain common services such as CI pipelines

  • Responsible for leading and mentoring a small team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge.

  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing test plans and test cases.

  • 5+ years or equivalent experience in advanced UI automation for web/mobile applications.

  • Experience writing automated tests in Python, Java Script or any other Programming Language.

  • Practical experience using development and deployment tools: Git, Jenkins, Docker.

  • Experience with Selenium or Appium.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with at least one modern web application framework such as Angular/Ember.js/React.

  • Experience developing or testing a non-PC device (phone/game console/set-top box, etc.).

  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and independently in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team with minimum direction with strong work ethic.
