Role Overview:

As a member of the Global Media Planning team you will contribute to the planning, buying, and managing of media campaigns globally across the Sony PlayStation portfolio of products (hardware, first party software, and services). You will need to be adept at digital media strategy: the skills to connect digital direct, programmatic, search and social media plans to larger Sony media objectives. You will be the primary point of contact between local territories and the global media planning team, which will require expertise in EMEA territory media planning and buying. Priority markets include, but not limited to: UK, DE, FR, IT, ES.

In this role you will collaborate with territory marketing stakeholders to coordinate, communicate, monitor, optimise, and recommend changes as needed. You will partner with the Media Strategy, Marketing Technology, Media Agency and in-house Performance activation teams to advise on local media buys in alignment with established media strategies that deliver on marketing objectives.

While a strong knowledge of EMEA digital and offline media is required to perform this role, it is equally critical that you combine this expertise with data-led analysis and creative thinking on a regional basis, and that market-level media plans reflect a mix that is tuned to each territory’s media marketplace and consumer behaviours. As this is a new and growing team, you will also have an excellent opportunity to improve, innovate and/or pioneer new ideas over multiple areas or functions related to media. The responsibilities listed are not all inclusive and additional duties may be assigned.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Communicate with local Product Managers and Media Managers, in EMEA and additional territories as needed, to ensure flow of information to and from the media planning team.
    • Synthesise information from various Sony teams across global business unit verticals and territory stakeholders.
    • Ensure that briefing best practice is followed, plans are delivered in a timely fashion, media managers are managed holistically, investment tracker is current, creative issues are escalated/resolved, and general trouble shooting.
    • Advocate usage of joint business partnership value adds for delivery in-market.
    • Makes sure test and learn framework is being applied locally.
  • Support the development of local innovative integrated media campaigns designed to drive new customer acquisition, revenue and brand awareness.
    • Works closely with the Media Strategy, Marketing Technology and in-house Performance teams to ensure that media plans fully embody media strategies, and that across fixed and fluid media channels audiences and objectives are planned holistically.
    • Consolidate local media plans into global roll-ups which support accomplishment of agreed upon global media strategy.
  • Reporting: ensures territories have visibility on delivery and performance of centrally activated biddable media, both by SIE in-house team & Mediacom Hub.
    • Ensure territory specific campaign optimisation is happening in an ongoing basis, in alignment with campaign KPIs.
    • Continuously improve media spend ROI with a focus on driving revenue and subscription sign ups.
  • Stay abreast of the latest digital marketing trends and test new strategies that may improve campaign performance.
  • Expert on EMEA media landscape, platforms, and emerging opportunities, provides ongoing media education of the marketing organisation.

Leadership:

  • Communicates with territory stakeholders to ensure media planning feedback and recommendations are represented.
  • Creates a culture of accountability around campaign performance and optimisation.
  • Assists senior management in understanding global media plans with local nuances.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Support the development of tactical media plans in alignment with agreed upon strategy that deliver on marketing objectives.
  • Ability to keep a broad base of territory stakeholders and partners aligned during campaign planning and execution, evaluate success of the media campaign, and pro-actively suggest optimisations.
  • Ensure planning milestones are accomplished on time by motivating territory marketers provide input and adhere to process deliverables deadlines.

What we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrable digital media experience
  • Successful track record of working at or managing media agencies in Europe
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to present to upper-management clearly and concisely
  • Expert in digital direct, programmatic, paid search and social media best practices
  • Hands-on executional experience with planning and managing large-scale advertising campaigns
  • In-depth knowledge of media planning fundamentals e.g. reach, frequency, formats, etc.
  • Proven track record managing high campaign volume, large budgets, complex strategies, and driving quantifiable results
  • Ability to project manage a diverse group of stakeholders on a global scale
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing reporting metrics
  • Advanced Microsoft skills including: Excel and Power Point
  • Proficient at managing processes of an internal team, including: running meetings, collaboration, and follow up on detailed action items
  • Adapt quickly to change
  • Upbeat personality who enjoys interfacing with global marketing stakeholders

Candidate Preferred Qualities:

  • Bachelor's degree, MBA and/or equivalent experience preferred
  • Process-oriented manager, with the ability to clearly define, implement, and manage scalable sustainable processes for a new and growing team
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and maintain strong attention to detail
  • Articulate complex technology-related issues and educating ranges of audience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-function teams
  • Working knowledge of Americas or JAPAC media landscape
  • Self-starter with passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results and affect meaningful change
  • Strong interest in video games and entertainment
