Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Senior Materials Artist in San Diego, CA to create and maintain material instance library for games.

Requires a Master’s degree in Game Development, Interactive Design, or related field or equivalent, and one (1) year of experience creating visuals of environment, set pieces, and props for next-generation video game titles.

Prior experience must include one (1) year of maintaining the artistic goals and vision through all phases of the game development cycle, from pre-production through final product release; developing visual materials and textures to comprise environments, set pieces, and props; contributing to entire production, post-production, launch, initial marketing campaign and development of ancillary materials for upcoming video game projects; analyzing material reference from daily lift, simplifying the shape and translating the visual language to procedural nodes in Substance Designer; providing high-quality procedural texture in Substance Designer; using logic and 2D and 3D graphics math to build up different the shaders in Unreal material editor; and utilizing Substance Designer, Unreal Engine, Substance Painter, Photoshop, Zbrush, and Maya.

Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. The estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$122,000—$136,100 USD
