Department Overview

Worldwide Studios (WWS) is the game development division of Sony PlayStation and is responsible for developing some of the most recognisable and ambitious console games and franchises, including Uncharted, The Last of Us, Horizon, God of War, and Gran Turismo.

The WWS Game Analytics team works with some of the best game studios in the world, and use data to help them make their games even better. We are looking for hardworking and passionate people to join us in pushing the boundaries of analytics for PlayStation games.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the analysis team in helping game studios use data effectively to improve games and the player experience
  • Continuously develop the team’s skillset through training, coaching, peer reviews, and other means as you see fit
  • Work with partners to understand their goals, find opportunities, and inform decisions about features and games across the company
  • Identify and lead/handle data and technical issues and projects
  • Coordinate with the other Game Analytics teams within PlayStation (Data Warehouse, Engineering, and DevOps) to keep in sync and cultivate collaboration
  • Keep up to date with industry and data science standard methodologies, and evangelise with the team where relevant

What We Are Looking For

  • You are passionate about games and using data to improve games and player experiences
  • You’re looking for a fast paced, dynamic environment to take on new challenges
  • You have a solid background of teasing out insights from data using statistics, machine learning, reporting analysis and SQL-based techniques. (We use Python, Redshift, Looker, and Grafana, but experience with other similar technologies is fine.
  • You have successfully managed, led, and mentored teams in similar environments
  • You have at least 4 years of analysis experience and 2 years of management experience
  • You have experience working with other teams and customer behaviour data to inform decisions and improve products
  • You have excellent presentation and communication skills, and the ability to convey results and insights to people with a variety of backgrounds in a clear, concise and unambiguous way
