Department overview:

Creative Arts is an award winning centralised, internal creative agency within PlayStation Studios. We endeavour to build a working environment where our people flourish and create their best work. Structured around eight core disciplines; Brand Design, UI/UX, Motion, Video, Film, Sound, Music and Programming, we deliver projects in collaboration with our game development and marketing/PR teams.

Role Overview:

PlayStation Studios is looking for an experienced and highly Creative Senior Graphic Designer to join its Creative Arts Group. The successful candidate will contribute bold, concept driven ideas and designs that push current boundaries. Working across multiple projects from brief through to delivery, the individual should be able to distil briefs and form creative that inspire. Sitting under the Creative Director in a small but agile Graphic Design team, the Senior Graphic Designer will play an integral role in creating bold, beautiful and functional identities for tomorrow’s best games.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work on graphic design and branding projects from briefing through to execution and delivery
  • Collaborate with other visual departments (motion, 3D, film) and the wider business on multi-disciplinary projects
  • Generate ideas, communicate these with the team, execute on those ideas and present these to senior members of Creative Arts
  • Support other members of the team with experience and skill
  • Strategise with the Creative Director, Design Director and other senior team members to help meet business objectives.

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent research, creative thinking and idea generation skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate ideas within a team environment
  • Ability to problem-solve project briefs and consider various routes to ensure delivery
  • Excellent eye for detail, layout and typography
  • Up to date with design trends both within and outside the games industry
  • Confident in presenting ideas and engaging with clients
  • High level of proficiency, time keeping and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Passionate about the work we do, always seeking to improve a project
  • An appetite for learning new tools and practices.

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience in an agency/in-house team
  • Skilled in Adobe CC applications: Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop

Desired:

  • Previous experience as a Designer in the games/film industry or equivalent
  • Education: BA Hons Graphic Design or equivalent education in a related field
