Senior Accountant (Contract)
San Mateo, CA ( Collab)
This is a hybrid Senior Accountant role that will support both the GL Manager & Reporting manager on the day-to-day activities, month-end close process and audit support. The primary responsibility will be in the area of Payroll accounting, subsidiary company reconciliation, and other GL functions. The candidate must be self-driven and have a strong understanding of accounting principles, must be able to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The responsibilities listed below are not all inclusive and additional duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
Prepare monthly payroll journal entries
Perform monthly variance analysis on compensation expenses and balance sheet accounts, and prepare explanation of variances
Research discrepancies and account reconciliations related to compensation and benefits
Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including completing reconciliations, escalating and resolving issues, and meeting all associated deadlines
Facilitating audits by providing records and documentation to auditors
Qualifications
5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting and Finance
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting or finance related discipline
CPA or International Equivalent, with SOX experience preferred
Recent experience with SAP strongly preferred
Solid understanding of US GAAP
Excellent analytical skills with ability to independently and efficiently research
Advance Excel skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment within tight deadlines.
