Production Traffic Manager - London or Liverpool based

Role overview:

Working within the Creative Operations team, the Production Traffic Manager will oversee the flow of projects between Client Relations, Production & Finance, own the process of allocating resource, improve our ability to expand and contract creative capacity to meet workload, and ensure accuracy of project metadata for business reporting. Although production experience is important, this is not a producer or project manager role. The role is internal facing, not client facing.

The Creative Services Group (CSG) is an award-winning centralised internal creative agency within PlayStation Studios. We endeavour to build a working environment where our people flourish and create their best work. Structured around eight core disciplines; Brand Design, UI/UX, Motion, Video, Film, Sound, Music and Programming, we deliver projects in collaboration with our game development, marketing and PR teams.

What you’ll be doing:

Workflow/Process Management:

  • Ensure projects flow seamlessly between Client Relations, Production & Finance
  • Maintain a real time high-level visual overview of all projects and creative resource across the group
  • Triage incoming requests in collaboration with Discipline Managers, communicating feasibility to Client Relations
  • Create checklist of standardised project initiation and close out tasks for production and others to adhere to
  • Identify, communicate and execute process improvements to improve overall efficiency and quality
  • Ensure agreed processes are properly documented and communicated to internal and external contributors

Resource Planning, Allocation & Acquisition:

  • Ownership of day-to-day resourcing process and administration of resource tool
  • Determine immediate and future creative resource requirements for the group
  • Collaborate with leads & producers to assign creative resource based on skillset, experience, availability & budget
  • Identify instances of over or underutilisation and collaborate with Discipline Leads & Client Relations to resolve
  • Maintain a roster of high-quality professionals/post-production facilities to support and enhance our skillset
  • Ownership of external outsourcing and insourcing (via our sister group)
  • Collaborate with HR Talent Acquisition, L&BA, IT & Office Manager to streamline hiring and onboarding process
  • Maintain and review job specs making sure they remain current, collaborating with relevant others

Budgeting & Reporting:

  • Communicate ongoing high-level status of projects to Client Relations and Discipline Managers
  • Ensure resource allocation is up-to-date and accurate in advance of monthly reporting
  • Ensure relevant project metadata is present and accurate in advance of monthly reporting
  • Ensure budget reporting process for Client Relations and Finance is efficient
  • Approve contractor invoices before processing by Accounts Assistant
  • Liaise with Client Relations when title costs differ from what was forecasted

Capacity Planning and Financial Forecasting:

  • Help plan future creative capacity against projected workload
  • Ensure Directors FY budget submissions accurately reflect capacity planning
  • Assist with Client Relations quarterly cost projections for titles, as required

Corporate Compliance:

  • Ensure outsource contributors are set up in accordance with SIE protocol (IR35, NDAs, due diligence etc.)

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years Resource/Traffic management experience
  • Experience working within creative team/agency
  • Understanding of creative agency skillsets
  • Experience introducing tools and/or process improvements

Desired:

  • Interest in video games and/or design, film or video industry
  • Excellent contacts within the creative industry
  • Experience working within in-house creative team
  • Experience with Smartsheets 10,000ft software
